.As well as enriching understanding, the program will acquaint the executive with new knowledge and techniques as preparation for making decisions across a range of specializations. Better understanding of behavioral and environmental forces; greater skill in carrying out effective inquiry and evaluating change; heightened capacity for self-education; and enhanced ability to relate the business entity to economic, political, and social pressures are factors contributing to such an accomplishment.
Successful completion of the program results in improved planning and decision-making abilities and prepares the executive to apply these new skills to the practical problems of the organization in the environment in which it now operates, with a new awareness of the total enterprise.
The Master of Business Administration degree is awarded upon successful completion of the two and one-half year program.
Participants represent a wide variety of professions, organizations, backgrounds, and prior academic training, and have different experiences and perspectives. By sharing knowledge, skills, and, points of view, participants develop a fuller understanding of the scope and importance of diverse management needs and problems. The program is designed to further cooperation among participants and to integrate the course materials with work experience. Participants and faculty meet for tea on class days to encourage informal discussion. Class instruction includes lectures, discussions, case analyses, management games, and individual projects.
Case and seminar methods of instruction are used to incorporate the realities of change in the organizational environment into the Executive MBA Program. The program curriculum is designed and presented to meet the needs of the mid-career executive. The course sequence permits participants to develop knowledge and skills in the fundamental areas of business and to refine and apply these skills and knowledge in making policy decisions.
In addition, learning from fellow program participants is strongly encouraged. Opportunities to meet and exchange thoughts, opinions, and information on business problems are provided through class discussions and class presentations. Class size is limited to encourage meaningful discussion and to enable specially selected faculty members to give individual attention to each student.
